TMO - Strategic Director – MSME Digital Lending
Role Overview
We are seeking a Strategic Initiatives Director to lead the design and execution of an end‑to‑end MSME digital lending journey. This role is responsible for building a scalable, data-driven credit operating model that integrates technology, risk, and customer experience to deliver fast, secure, and fully digital lending solutions for small and micro businesses.
You will act as a cross-functional leader, working across Risk, Business, Technology, Data, and Operations to reshape how MSME lending is originated, underwritten, approved, and managed in a digital-first environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design MSME Credit Architecture (Modular & Digital-first)
- Develop a modular MSME credit framework leveraging:
- Credit bureau data (CIC)
- Transactional and behavioral data
- Build scalable credit models tailored by:
- Industry clusters
- Business size
- Cashflow patterns
- Define the credit decisioning logic and framework for automation.
2. Lead End-to-End Digital Lending Transformation
- Design and implement a fully digital MSME lending journey from:
- Customer onboarding → onboarding automation
- Credit assessment → approval → disbursement → monitoring
- Shift delivery from RM-led processing to advisory-driven engagement
- Reduce turnaround time (TAT) and increase straight-through processing (STP).
3. Build Portfolio Analytics & Risk Monitoring Capabilities
- Develop early warning systems and credit-health monitoring tools
- Design portfolio dashboards to track:
- Loan quality
- Risk exposure
- Segment performance
- Enable data-driven decision-making for MSME portfolio management.
4. Develop Digital-First Lending Products
- Collaborate with Product, Risk, and Technology teams to launch:
- Automated disbursement solutions
- Digital documentation & onboarding
- Embedded lending use cases (where applicable)
- Ensure alignment with the MSME lifecycle and channel strategy.
5. Lead Program Execution & Cross-Functional Governance
- Own end-to-end initiative delivery roadmap and execution plan
- Lead a 20–50 FTE cross-functional team, including:
- Project Managers (PMs)
- Product Owners (POs) / Business Analysts (BAs)
- Scrum Masters (SMs)
- Change Managers (CMs)
- Act as the primary interface with the Transformation Director, providing:
- Progress updates
- Issue escalation
- Strategic recommendations
Experience & Domain Expertise
Minimum 10+ years of experience in:
- MSME lending / SME banking
- Credit product development
- Lending operations or LOS implementation
Proven track record in:
- Digital lending transformation
- Credit scoring / decision engine implementation
Strong knowledge of:
- MSME financing models
- Credit lifecycle (origination → underwriting → monitoring)
